CONTACT POINT OF THE SERVE

  • Mirror 1 (Tricky to catch on camera, but this is almost on the strings!)
  • Body is facing net
  • Elbow extended, slightly in front and arm at 12 oclock position
  • Contact point at 1 to 12 oclock position

 


EXTENSION

  • Mirror 2
  • The racket face must extend towards target
  • Shoulder now in front of head
  • Elbow still high
  • High five to the side or external shoulder rotation.

 


THE HAMMER

  • Racket on its side edge
  • Butt facing forward
  • Elbow is bent and high overhead
  • Jumping/Hop into contact
  • Upper body now facing forward into court

 

THE DROP

  • Elbow bent
  • Legs Pushing up
  • Upper body rotated now to the side
  • Butt of racket facing skywards and the face of racket facing the side also.
  • Racket behind but at side of body
  • Ball toss at about 2 oclock

 


THE POWER POSITION or TROPHY POSITION

  •  Upper body is rotated towards the back of the court.
  •  Racket head is vertical
  •  His wrist is neutral and tossing arm is up.
  •  He is stepping and sitting ready to push up.  His Hips are leaning forward nicely at  this point.
